Strzepa now reports from WPTZ’s main studio in South Burlington. She covers various stories that have a big impact on Vermonters’ lives. One story that really stayed with her was the 2019 trial of Steven Bourgoin, who was charged with murdering 5 teens. Strzepa spent a whole month in the courtroom, getting to know the families of Janie Chase Cozzi, Mary Harris, Eli Brookens, Liam Hale, and Cyrus Zschau, the 5 teens who lost their lives. She has shared stories about how their deaths affected the Mad River Valley community. On a personal note, Strzepa keeps a poem about kindness, written by Harris, hanging on her desk in the newsroom.
Strzepa kick-started her journalism journey with internships, including roles as an Investigative News Intern at WPRI-TV (Fox Providence) in Providence, Rhode Island, for 4 months in 2013, a Newsroom Intern at WCVB-TV Channel 5 Boston and WGGB-TV (abc40) in Boston, MA, and Springfield, Massachusetts, respectively, both for 4 months in 2013.
