Mikenzie went to Michigan to track down politicians and conduct interviews with presidential candidates. During a visit to West Michigan, she covered President Trump’s rallies and sat down for an interview with Vice President Mike Pence. The Michigan Association of Broadcasters named Mikenzie the best broadcast reporter in 2019.

Mikenzie spent three years anchoring the evening newscasts at KTVH-TV in Helena, Montana, before entering politics.
