Weig then went back to the role of producer of FOX 28 News at nine in September 2015 a role he played until April 2018 when he became the political reporter.
Weig had previously served as a TV News Producer for KGAN-TV from April 2004 to April 2006 before joining KCRG-TV9. He had initially worked for KGAN-TV as a video editor from August 1999 to November 2003. During this time, he also served as a weekend news producer, a storm chaser, a photojournalist, and an assistant in the weather department.
