The 1984 Memorial Day flood was his initial account of severe weather. At the time, he lived near one of the hardest hit regions, Mingo Creek. Even though he was only 9 years old, he knew that the weather was his calling.
During his senior year in high school, Price encountered the effects of Oklahoma’s volatile weather. He saw an F-4 tornado tear through his hometown, leaving homes and his high school in ruin. As a result, he finished his senior year a month early.
After graduating from college, Price competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials, where he made it to the final in the men’s 5000m run. He has worked in the Tulsa TV market for over 2 decades, most recently at KTUL as an assignments editor, weather producer, and meteorologist for a decade. Also, he is an FAA Certified Drone Pilot.
