Reeves is a well-known international correspondent who focuses on South America. He formerly worked as a Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India correspondent for NPR. Reeves has worked as a journalist in a number of countries, including the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, and Asia, for the past two and a half decades.

He was part of the NPR crew that received the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University and George Foster Peabody awards for their coverage of the Iraq war. The South Asian Journalists’ Association has recognized Reeves multiple times. For over a decade, Reeves covered South Asia.

He’s traveled extensively in Pakistan and India, taking NPR listeners on journeys along the Ganges River and along the ancient Grand Trunk Road. After 17 years as an overseas journalist for the British daily newspaper The Independent, Reeves came to NPR in 2004.
