Evansville is his native home and he has spent all his broadcast career in his hometown. His journalism career began at WTVW Channel 7 in 1980 where he served as a general assignment reporter. In 1981, he earned a promotion to serve as the weekend sports anchor and earned another promotion to serve as a sports director a year later.

While at WTVW, he attained a promotion to serve as the evening news anchor in 1990 a post he worked for a period of thirty years. While he was in the station, he covered stories such as a devastating tornado that tore through parts of Kentucky and Indiana killing 25 people, the 911 terror attacks, the execution of Timothy McVeigh, the visit of Pope John Paul II, and the crash of a C-130 into a hotel and restaurant.

When he joined the 14 News in 2014, he anchored the 5, 6, and 10 PM newscasts. In addition, he has won a number of regional Emmys and Murrows as well as a national Murrow. Prior to winning many other awards such as the Associated Press, and the Indiana Broadcasters Association.

 Additionally, he served as an inductee of the Indiana AP Broadcasters Association [APBA] Hall of Fame in 2018. For his coverage of youth sports in 2017, he joined the Evansville Ball Hall of Fame. On many occasions, he earned the title of Evansville’s favorite television news personality. In addition,  in 2012, he won n Ball State’s TCOM alumnus of the year.

Further, he’s involved in the community through board memberships, such as One Book, One Community, Evansville Dance Theater, the Masonic Learning Center (dyslexia), and the Friends of Bosse Field. In addition, he has served as the host of the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for more than twenty years.
