During his tenure at WESH 2 NBC, he was part of a team that received the Columbia DuPont Award, and a Peabody Award. He also made appearance in MSNBC and The Today Show on CNN.
Martinez started his career as a news anchor and reporter at KESQ 3 ABC from June 1999 to December 2001. His passion for news anchoring develop at a tender age of seven years when he moved to the U.S from Cuba with his parents. He would watch television news and as a result he was able to learn his new language.
