He was also present when the Gamecock football team played in its very 1st SEC Championship game in Atlanta, GA. While he was in his first year at Coker College, he began working at WHSC Radio in Hartsville, taking on the role of weeknight announcer. Additionally, he analyzed Coker College basketball and provided play-by-play commentary for Hartsville High football games. At USC, Anderson served as a graduate assistant in the university’s Sports Information Department for nearly 2 years (1991 – 1993). In this role, he was the main media contact for the women’s basketball and volleyball teams and worked at Williams-Brice Stadium during game days. While in college, Anderson had a short experience as a sportswriter, where he worked at the Florence Morning News.
