Nye delivers an extensive experience and hometown viewpoint to his sports reporting for WTHR. The Indianapolis has spent his whole broadcasting career in Central Indiana. He dreamt of being a sportscaster since elementary school and feels honored to have achieved his childhood dream.

A year after joining WTHR as a sports reporter, Nye became the first weekend morning TV sports anchor in Indianapolis. During his time at the station, he has filled numerous roles in the sports department.

Before joining WTHR Channel 13, Nye served as the first sports anchor for WALV, 27 Alive(later known as SkyTrak weather). He also worked for Network Indiana and multiple radio stations early in his career.

During his career, Nye has broadcast multiple Final Fours, three Super Bowls, and several Daytona 500s, in addition to all the big events rights here in Indianapolis each year. However, his favorite stories are about local athletes who achieve special victories or surpass unique challenges.

Nye’s reporting has received recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Radio & Television News Directors Association. Additionally, he won a regional Emmy Sports Reporting Award.
