On September 9, 2019, Namnoum suffered a heart attack after he began feeling sick when he was playing basketball before work. At first, he thought that he was getting the flu or severely dehydrated. While driving home, he put off the idea that he was suffering a heart attack since he couldn’t feel that tingling in his left arm.
When he reached home, he was uncontrollably sweating and had extreme back pain. He asked his wife to go home via text and she found him in a pool of sweat. Cassie, his wife, then called 911 and EMS workers arrived and told them what was happening. The EMS used paddles and gave him an electric shock twice in the ER since he was in such bad shape.
Dr. Manhart, a cardiologist at UCHealth, put a catheter up his radial artery to inject a trouble-shooting dye into his heart. Next, he had a stent ballooned which opened up Namnoum’s artery leading to blood flow. He returned home after staying at the hospital for three days. After the ordeal, he made lifestyle changes like consuming a low-sodium, smaller-portion diet, and eating Boca Burgers and multi-grain bread.
