The story profiled Michael Tuohey, the United Airlines employee who took plane tickets from the two hijackers who flew out of Portland. The story won her an Edward R. Murrow Award in the ‘Hard News’ category and a New England Emmy Award in the ‘Serious Feature’ category.
York has broadcast some of Maine’s highest-profile trials, including the 39-year-old cold case of Joyce McLain. Her work has helped the endeavor in holding government agencies responsible, especially when it comes to cases of child abuse.
