She was an active member in Iowa State’s weather show, Cy’s Eyes on the Skies, where she fell in love with broadcast meteorology during her college years. Flynn went on to intern at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, and WGN-TV in Chicago, Illinois. She was elected president of Iowa State’s student chapter of the American Meteorological Society her senior year, where she fought for weather awareness outreach throughout central Iowa.

She was also quite active in the National Weather Association’s central Iowa chapter. Sara is ecstatic to be starting her professional career right here in Iowa! When she’s not forecasting the weather, you’ll find her exploring new hiking routes, running, and, of course, experimenting in the kitchen with new dessert recipes.
