Sabol serves at FOX 8 News as a morning meteorologist. before joining the station, he worked for WSAZ-TV in Huntington, West Virginia as a meteorologist for 5 years (1998 – 2003). Before that, he served at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia as a Chief Meteorologist for 1 year (1997 – 1998). In northeastern Ohio, he has seen and predicted lots of different weather events, like a few times when tornadoes broke out, a drought in 1988, and heavy snow in the late 1970s.

Sabol has achieved 2 important certifications in meteorology. He holds the AMS (American Meteorological Society) Certified Consulting Meteorologist Seal #726 and the AMS (American Meteorological Society) Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal #770. Not many broadcast meteorologists have both of these certifications, making his accomplishment unique. Sabol is also trained to be an NWS’s (National Weather Service) Skywarn Severe Weather Spotter.

In the year 1999, for “Outstanding Weather Special”, Sabol won the AP (Associated Press) Award. When coming to his education, Sabol is a proud 1992 alumnus of Hudson High School and a 1996 alumnus of Saint Louis University’s Parks College. He graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Meteorology.

Scott loves sports and has been involved in various activities related to them. He was the captain of his college baseball team in Division III for 2 years. During his time playing baseball, he achieved an impressive batting average of over 0.400. Additionally, Scott has also been involved in coaching locally. He has shared his knowledge and skills by coaching football, basketball, and baseball teams in his community. During his leisure time, he likes to go to local schools to talk to students about how reading and education are essential, explore the outdoors, draw, take photographs, weightlift, or play drumsets.
