Her passion for meteorology began when she was a young child and noticed the local chief meteorologist was a woman. Witnessing a woman in a male-dominated role inspired her to pursue the field as well. This passion was further intensified when she traced Hurricane Katrina and its effects across her home state.
Thomas understands that a meteorologist’s duty is to serve the local community and study the science behind weather phenomena. Her devotion to be of service became more evident in college, where she was heavily involved with her campus community.
After graduating from college, Thomas moved to San Angelo, Texas, where he served FOX West Texas as a meteorologist. While in Texas, she broadcast everything, including severe weather, fire weather, winter weather, and drought.
