Alanis claimed victory in the inaugural Real Men Wear Pink event and triumphed at the American Cancer Society’s Dancing with the Coastal Bend, both causes deeply close to her heart in 2022. She was honored by the League of United Latin American Citizens Council, LULAC #1, at their gala celebrating Outstanding Community Leaders in May 2023.

Before joining KRIS-TV, she served as a weekend anchor and reporter at KIII-TV from May 2017 to October 2020. Alanis had previously worked for KXXV as a multi-media journalist from October 2014 to October 2016. During her tenure there, she wrote, shoot and edited the 5, 6 and sometimes 10 pm newscasts.
