He has held several roles at the station, from reporter, videographer, anchor, and producer, in the Sports Department, to being a news feature and health reporter.
Lammers chiefly followed the UConn Football program’s climb to national respectability, including the school’s initial BCS Bowl berth in the 2011 Fiesta Bowl in Glendale. Also, he broadcast the UConn Men’s Basketball team’s third National Championship at the 2012 Final Four in Houston.
While working as a health reporter, Lammers did an Emmy-nominated story about his own struggles of discovering a treatment for Avascular Necrosis, a rare degenerative bone disease. That story showed him going under the knife, on camera, to receive an innovative stem cell transplant using his own bone marrow. Since then, he has received a continuous response from the story, and people from around the globe contacted him for more details regarding the procedure and the disease.
