Prior to this, he served the KABC’S sister station WTVD/ABC 11 in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina as a reporter and an anchor. Plus, in 2021 he was an Emmy award nominee as a result of his reporting at WTVD on The Shooting Death of Andrew Brown, Jr. Else, the story amassed national attention.

Also, he received three Salute to Excellence in Journalism trophies, presented by the National Association of Black Journalists. He got the trophies consecutively in 2020, 2016, and 2011. Further, in 2017 he was dubbed ‘Reporter of The Year’ by the Associated Press and the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.
