Sater was accorded a Seal of Approval by the American Meteorological Society (AMS). He is a proud member of the National Weather Association (NWA).
For the network, he has reported on several weather events internationally including the November 2013 Super Typhoon Haiyan. He became the first broadcaster internationally to feature the Philippines’ landfall impact. It was during his coverage that he also became the first reporter to report that the storm’s intense winds made it the strongest typhoon to make landfall on any landmass in recorded history. Earlier the network was accorded the prestigious Royal Television Society Awards for its reporting of Typhoon Haiyan in the ‘Best News Coverage — International’ category.
Prior to joining the network, Sater tenured in several U.S. markets as a meteorologist including Atlanta, Georgia; Cincinnati, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; Alabama, Kentucky, Montgomery, and Lexington.
