He was awarded the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society for both television and radio in 1988.

From 1994 to 2000, he worked as a substitute on the CBS network’s “CBS This Morning” program, filling in for Mark McEwen and Craig Allen. Additionally, he co-founded Automated Weather Source in 1992, a company dedicated to placing automated weather stations in elementary schools across the Metro region.

Beyond his broadcasting duties, he frequently speaks about meteorology at regional schools and rotary clubs, and he serves as an emcee at various charitable events.
