Ty Pennington is an American Host/Model/Artist/Carpenter/Author/Actor, serving as the host of the renovation competition series, Rock the Block Season 4. The show premiered in the month of March 2023 on HGTV. Asides from his role on the show, he is also known for airing on the show, Trading Spaces between 2000 and 2003 as a Carpenter.

Pennington began his TV career after tenuring for quite some time modeling industry. As a set designer, he managed to visit other countries back in 1995 including Las Vegas. He became more notable in the TV industry after his innovative hit show, Trading Spaces went viral and every household was in love with the show. Additionally, he also was featured in The Adventures of Ociee Nash (as “Wilbur Wright”) an independent film in 2003.

During that same year, Pennington was selected by ABC to serve as the leader of the eight-person design team of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. This was when the station was developing a show that would rehab the houses of less fortunate families. He was very much committed to the show and spent about 240 days of that year working. The show(Extreme Makeover Home Edition) ended with its ninth season in 2012. Till the show ended, Pennington had assisted in rebuilding about 200 homes for the show.

Later on, he relocated from Los Angeles to New York City and started to take part in the lifestyle-based talk show The Revolution. The show was aired in January 2012 on ABC and was a huge success till it was canceled after six months. HGTV launched Ty Breaker, in January 2021, a show which detailed Pennington assisting less fortunate families that are having a difficult time in making their homes work for their changing lives. On March 8, 2021, he joined the HGTV renovation competition series, Rock The Block, where he was a host for its 2nd season.

Pennington was plagued with behavioral problems as a child, til he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 17. It was during his interview with Glenn Beck and in the movie The Disruptors that he also discussed his ADHD. Pennington has partnered with Shire Plc to raise awareness of ADHD in adults and promote the use of Vyvanse for the treatment of adult ADHD. He has been criticized for promoting the use of ADHD medications such as Adderall without disclosing his sponsorship.
