When working at KOVR-TV, Jones reported on many stories such as historic wildfires, church shootings, and the mass shooting in downtown Sacramento in the year 2022. She also did special projects that honored community members who worked to bring unity to the Sacramento region. At KOIN-TV, she reported on many significant protests such as an anti-ICE protest, which caused the closing of the building for many days.

Jones also covered multiple significant stories when working at WISC-TV, such as the story of a student from the University of Wisconsin who was arrested for women sexual assault. There she also reported on numerous police protests and she was the 1st journalist to have an exclusive interview with Joseph Jakubowski in jail. This was the guy who was responsible for leading authorities on a nationwide manhunt for 10 days, after robbing many rifles and sending Pres. Donald Trump a 161-page manifesto.

While at KABC-TV, Jones got to interview Smoky Robinson, cover the trial of Conrad Murray, and report on the anniversary (25th) of the Los Angeles riots. Over the years of her career, she has won several awards and honors for her incredible work as a journalist. In the year 2015, she was awarded the Midwest Regional Emmy Award for reporting on the Tony Robinson shooting in Madison. For hosting “Insights into Northern Michigan,” Jones was honored with a Michigan Broadcasting Award.
