Zach Daniel is an American Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist working for WTVR – CBS 6 in Richmond, Virginia as a Chief Meteorologist. He has been working for the station since November 2007 after working for WDCW.

Prior to his role at WTVR-TV, Daniel served as the Chief Meteorologist at WDCW in Washington, District Of Columbia, from April 2016 to October 2018.
Before his time in Washington, Daniel worked as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist at KWTV for six years, from December 2001 to November 2007. Daniel began his career as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist at KSPR-TV, where he worked from May 2000 to December 2001. Daniel has a job as a forensic meteorologist. He helps with legal cases by providing expert opinions and creating reports about the weather. He has worked on many cases in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Throughout his career, he has won several awards for his remarkable work. While in Richmond, he won 12 Emmy Awards. 7 of them he was awarded in the years 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2011, and 2009). The other 4 Emmy Awards were for Best Weather Special in 2011, Best Weathercast in 2018, Best Weathercast in 2008, and for reporting of the September 17th, 2018 historic tornado outbreak. All of the Emmys were for “Best Weather Anchor”. Additionally, Daniel was nominated for 20 Emmy Awards.
Daniel is actively involved in AMS – the American Meteorological Society and NWA – the National Weather Association. He holds the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval. During his leisure time, he likes to golf, ski, travel, run, Hang out with his friends and family, or serve the community by volunteering for various charitable causes, such as the American Cancer Society (he serves as a board member).
