While in college, he worked as a weather intern at WMAZ-TV for 4 months (from May 2022 to August 2022). Alex started as a Pre-Med major but changed his mind in his second year in college, switching to meteorology (his childhood aspiration/passion).
During college, he made forecast posts and videos for North Georgia Weather Authority and AthensGAWeather on Facebook, helping to predict weather for Northeast Georgia. He also joined the Sports Meteorology Team and forecasted for the UGA Baseball team in his last semester. Pry has held various jobs outside of journalism.
He worked at Centro Bar in Athens, Georgia, first as a part-time bartender from March 2021 to May 2023 and later as a full-time general manager for three months in 2023. He was a part-time delivery driver for Floral Endeavors in Bogart, Georgia, from June 2021 to May 2022. Pry also served as an equipment manager for Robert Sapp Baseball Camp in Warner Robins, Georgia, for six years, from June 2015 to June 2021. Additionally, he worked as a full-time sandwich maker at Jersey Mike’s Subs in Warner Robins for three months during the summer of 2020.
