Ali Turiano Career

Turiano serves at KDFW FOX 4 in Dallas/Fort Worth, North Texas as a weekend evening meteorologist. Before joining the station, she served at News 13 Orlando as a Meteorologist. Before going to Orlando, she worked for WENY-TV in Elmira, New York as a morning meteorologist and fill-in for the Chief for around 2 years. That is where she began her TV career. Also, she worked for WICU 12News in Erie, Pennsylvania. There she served as a Fill-in Meteorologist for half a year. After about 2 years of snow, ice, and extreme cold, Turiano was ready for the wild thunderstorms that began her meteorologist dream.

Turiano has been passionate about the weather since she was 11 years old when her family moved from New York to Tampa Bay, Florida. In Tampa, powerful thunderstorms rolled through each afternoon lighting up the sky. She says that there were towering clouds and lightning sprawled across the sky like a spiderweb. That was what actually hooked up her with the weather. Growing up, she used to watch the blockbuster movie “Twister” and came out and solidified her career path instantly. She always wanted to chase tornadoes but her mother would not allow that, so she worked hard in her studies in many advanced science and math courses while in high school, to make up for college.

During her senior year in high school, she interned at WFTS in Tampa. There she combined her 2 passions; weather and being on camera. When she is not working, she likes working on her body fitness. Recently, she has been a yogi and enjoys any kind of fitness class that gets the blood pumping. She also loves cooking and learning about different foods in other cultures. Her love for cooking came after being of Italian descent. Turiano is also a sports fan, who likes rooting for her Alma Mater the Nittany Lions, and America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys.
