During her time at Sky News, she covered two presidential elections inclusive of Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, while she was in the state. She won a Gold New York Film and Festival award for her documentaries charting his rise to power. Her documentary on Chicago’s gun crisis also won an International Film and Television Award.
As the station’s Russian correspondent, she led Sky’s coverage of the 2012 presidential election and gained a rare, exclusive interview, in English, with Vladimir Putin. She’s reported from countries including Libya, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Botswana, Ukraine, Colombia, Portugal, Argentina, Vietnam, Poland, and most recently the Bahamas on the devastating Hurricane Dorian.
Amanda was among the first reporters on the scene of the 7/7 London bombings and reported for LBC radio before joining Sky News. Her career started when she served the Hull Daily Mail. Later, she went on to serve BBC local radio, LBC, and then on to regional TV news at ITV Border.
