During her college days, she filmed and produced a documentary about arranged marriages. The documentary was shown at a film festival in Seattle for South Asian films. She also told the story in an award-winning documentary called Threads. This documentary is about a Bangladeshi artist who taught a special kind of quilting. It ended up helping many poor women make a living.

In November 2021, Anusha talked on her Instagram about feeling really down. She said that she realized it was postpartum depression, and it was getting stronger. Roy didn’t start the important talks; her mom noticed the signs and her husband found her upset in the closet. She felt like a bad mom, struggling to connect with her baby, and everything seemed gloomy. What made it better? She went to her doctor, kept talking with her family, and reached out to a therapist. Connecting with other moms who shared similar feelings made a big difference. However, she stated that she was improving and that she was enjoying time with her baby more, trying to make up for the tough weeks. Even though there are still tough times, now they know how to handle it and work through it together.
