Before she joined NBC10 and Telemundo62, she served as a consumer investigative reporter, general news reporter, and fill-in anchor at Univision Communications Inc. from February 2019 to February 2022. While there, Smole won 6 Emmy awards including Reporter for Best Daytime Newscast in Large Markets, Best Investigative Reporter 2020 and 2021, Specialty Assignment Report, Education Series, and Technology Series.
Prior to joining Univision Communications Inc., she worked for Entravision Communications as a Multimedia Journalist from September 2017 to February 2019. While there, Smole did investigations on alleged New Mexico clergy sexual abuse and revealed that most children were Hispanic.
