Brought up in Panola County and attended Carthage High School where he graduated proudly. His interest in journalism started when he made his own newscasts in his bedroom radio/TV studio.
He began working part-time at KGAS Radio in Carthage at the age of fourteen but had already begun doing on-air work at the station since he was in elementary school. Furthermore, while he was in high school he began by serving as the 5 p.m anchor and also as the news director ad his reportings were heard throughout the state on the Texas State Network.
In addition, for his reporting on the resentencing of infamous murderer Bernie Tiede, he received regional recognition. While at the University of North Texas in Denton, he served as the Assistant News Director of the award-winning campus television station. Not long ago, he worked at NewsRadio 1080 KRLD and the Texas State Network in Dallas where he served as an anchor and reporter.
In addition, in both 2015 and 2016, the leaders of The Panola Watchman Newspaper voted him as “Best Radio Personality” and “Best Reporter” in Panola County. Prior to also being a beneficiary of two Lone Star EMMY Student Production Awards in the fall of 2016 for his work at North Texas Television.
