He has also worked at KTAL-TV in Shreveport, where he served as a general assignments reporter. Furthermore, he also worked at the Natchitoches, Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau for a period of four years. The Louisiana native attended Northwestern State University. Furthermore, the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded him with two regional Emmys.
He has also received recognition from the Southeast Journalism Conference, Broadcast Education Association, and the Associated Press. In addition, selected as a RIAS Berlin Commission fellow, he participated in a trans-Atlantic exchange program for American and German broadcasters by the RTDNF.
In the following year, he traveled to China to report on trade tensions between the world’s largest economies as a fellow of the East-West Center. He relocated back to Germany in 2019, to cover the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. As of the moment, he served as past president of the NSU Alumni Association prior to being honored in 2017 as NSU’s Distinguished Young Alumnus of the Year.
Furthermore, she is also an active volunteer on the advisory committee for the NSU Department of Communication Arts, Journalism, and News Media, and serves on the board of directors of the Housing Corporation and the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter. He was named Pi Kappa Phi’s national ‘Volunteer of the Year,’ ‘Facilitator of the Year,’ and was named to the fraternity’s ‘Thirty Under 30’ list.
