Before joining Newsmax, he worked for WSMV-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. He covered the historic floods that devastated Nashville while he was working at WSMV-TV, and this led him to win an Emmy award in 2010.

Before going to WSMV, Sellers anchored “Fox News Live” when he worked at Fox News Channel and during the Iraq War, he reported live from Baghdad. He interviewed business leaders such as Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Jeff Bezos, and many others while he anchored on CNBC following the history of making financial markets, a three hours show every day. Sellers filled in at “Power Lunch” and “Squawk Box” as an anchor. He also co-hosted at CNBC on the “Market Watch” and “Today’s Business” shows. During his broadcasting career, he has worked in places such as Nashville Seattle, Washington DC, and San Antonio.

Sellers was a talented athlete while he was a teenager, and he was trained by the Kansas City Royals until he completed his high school education. After that, he went to college. He is on the Board of Advisors for the Media Studies Department at the University of Virginia.
