Jones serves at 8 WGHP in Greensboro, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina as a News Anchor. He anchors the FOX 8 Noon News and the FOX 8 Morning News every day on FOX 8 News. Jones loves great stories since he always has an opportunity to meet some interesting people along the way. Before joining the station, he worked at a station in Roanoke, Virginia. Jones began his TV career in Kingsport, Tennessee. He then went for a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia. From there, he now moved to Roanoke, Virginia. 

Jones has worked for a CBS affiliate, WFMY (Channel 2) in Greensboro, North Carolina.  There, he began as a reporter and then went to anchor the program, “Good Morning Show” on weekends. The program was the longest-running locally-produced program in the country.

Throughout his career, Jones has won several awards and honors. Among other awards and honors, he holds several Emmy awards for his work as a writer and reporter. He says that one of the great moments in his life was when he was honored for the support of the Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park. Jones has been an adjunct faculty member at UNC – Greensboro for over two and a half years. For Jones’ devotion to America’s military women, men, and families, he was made an honorary member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 260 in Greensboro. When he is not working, he likes watching a beautiful sunrise, great-looking cars (he owns a 1958 DeSoto named Dorothy), and barbecue with lots of sauce.
