In addition, he was awarded the  Seal of Approval in 1984 by the American Meteorological Society. Furthermore, he also received continuing education in Doppler Radar Meteorology in Vail, Colorado. He is also involved in the Dayton area community, including being a member of the Honorary Chairperson of the “Young’s Multiple Charity Bike Tour,” Dayton Cycling Club, Alzheimer’s Association, Wellness Connection, and Juvenile Diabetes.

Furthermore, he plays tennis prior to also being a co-captain of the 3.5 United States Tennis Assoc. team at Wright Patt. He also plays for the 4.0 team. At St. Charles in Kettering, he is a choir member.
