Loftus serves as the anchor of the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts on KLAS-TV. On joining the station he started off by serving as the Morning Traffic Anchor prior to being promoted to Morning Anchor on “Good Day” in 2014, and later on as Evening Anchor in early 2018.

Loftus started his journalism career at KLSX (97.1 FM Talk) in Los Angeles where he worked on the weekends. In 202, he worked as the writer and producer of one of the on-air personalities of “The Film Freak Show.” He started his journalism and started working at KMPH-TV(FOX) in 2007 in Fresno where he served as a feature reporter.

After working at KMPH-TV(FOX), he, later on, joined KLAS-TV where he served as an anchor and reporter. During his tenure at KLAS-TV, he anchored a daily segment by the name of “What’s Driving You Crazy,” from 2009 to 2014 where he assisted in solving traffic problems troubling viewers. He then received the NASB Media Award in 2017 for Outstanding Education Reporting for “What’s Cool at School.”

Loftus also anchored and hosted the well-known New Year’s Eve Countdown Show which is seen live in 12 cities and received an Emmy in 2017 for Special Events Coverage. He has also managed to interview several celebrities and politicians including Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Rascal Flatts, Carlos Santana, and Guns N’ Roses. He also enclosed the Golden Knights in the 2018 Stanley Cup Final.
