Ruffalo had gone to undergo a sesamoid excision surgery. The first surgery, fortunately, went well and she is now able to walk with the assistance of crutches. Ruffalo says that the bone that was removed from her body was large, and she’ll always remember what she underwent. During the surgery, a nerve block was placed in her leg, which enabled her not to feel the pain for about one whole day(24 hours). In January 2022, she underwent the same experience, where her foot bone break into a few pieces. Ruffalo however recovered and returned back to work with her ABC7 Los Angeles family.
