She got the job at SNL while performing improv at The Second City in Chicago, where she went after graduating from CalArts. She co-anchored the Weekend Update section her second year and returned to the cast the following year without the anchor duties. Her other credits include voicing characters on The Awesomes (2013–2015) and supporting appearances in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain.

She went to Oak Park and River Forest High Schools until her sophomore year when she was expelled for bringing marijuana to school.
