Cecily Strong whose full name is Cecily Legler Strong is an American actress and comedian best known for his appearance on Saturday Night Live since 2012 and also stars in the television series Schmigadoon!. She got the job at SNL while performing improv at The Second City in Chicago, where she went after graduating from CalArts. She co-anchored the Weekend Update section her second year and returned to the cast the following year without the anchor duties. Her other credits include voicing characters on The Awesomes (2013–2015) and supporting appearances in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain.

She went to Oak Park and River Forest High Schools until her sophomore year when she was expelled for bringing marijuana to school. She subsequently went to a private Catholic school until her final year, when she transferred to the Chicago Academy for the Arts, where she graduated in 2002. She went on to study acting at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where she earned a BFA in theatre in 2006.
