She co-anchored the Weekend Update section her second year and returned to the cast the following year without the anchor duties. Cecily Strong Education

She went to Oak Park and River Forest High Schools until her sophomore year when she was expelled for bringing marijuana to school. She subsequently went to a private Catholic school until her final year, when she transferred to the Chicago Academy for the Arts, where she graduated in 2002. She went on to study acting at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where she earned a BFA in theatre in 2006.
