Charles Payne Rape accusation
After a former network guest, Scottie Nell Hughes, accused him of rape, Payne was suspended by Fox Business in July 2017 pending an investigation. Payne rejected the allegation but admitted to having a three-year “romantic relationship” with Hughes prior to the claim.
Hughes claimed she kept an apartment near Fox’s Manhattan headquarters for the length of the affair in the hopes of landing a permanent job with the network. After ending the affair in 2015 and reporting Payne to Fox, her public appearances were dramatically restricted. Payne’s ban was lifted on September 8, 2017.
