Ambriz was tenured at Weather Nation as a meteorologist in April 2019. Having been tenured for three years and five months, she was based in Denver, Colorado. Previously, she was tenured at WSAZ-TV as a meteorologist in Huntington, West Virginia Area.
At the network, she was tenured for almost two years serving as an NBC and CW affiliated news station’s Evening Meteorologist for 4 PM, 5:30 PM, and 10 PM. There he recorded daily radio and webcast forecasts, analyzed short-range, long-range, and current NWP models to establish the forecast, and built and constructed visual graphics to easily and clearly reflect the information predicted.
Additionally, he also participated in topical segments during the 4 pm newscast to communicate important topics to the network’s audience including but not limited to community interviews and science advancements, utilized social media to promote daily and severe weather updates, constructed closed captioning, and participated in mandatory.
Additionally, she also volunteered at community outreach programs, as well as conducted school talks for all ages. Ambriz began her career as a meteorologist and landed her first on-air job at WISH-TV, where she also interned. While here, she enclosed a number of news including sports. She also worked on her research project in the sphere of meteorology, and weather forecast for the Red Cross.
She then left the station and joined WBBJ-TV, in West Tennessee where she served as the weekend on-camera meteorologist. During her leisure time, she loves playing tennis, rollerblading, and snowboarding. She is also determined to take up golfing again and loves spending downtime with her cat, Oliver.

Ambriz ceased working at the network in August 2022, when she joined NBC 6 South Florida where she serves as a weekend meteorologist. There she also served as the climate change reporter who joined the NBC6 First Alert Weather team in August 2022.
Chelsea Ambriz Controversy
Ambriz was sued by her former colleague at WSAZ-TV, Erica Bivens in the Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Erica served as the newsreader for WSAZ-TV. Erica and her husband Donald spent the night in a bar when Ambriz came and allegedly tried to gain Donald’s attention. Donald told Ambriz that he wasn’t interested in having a conversation with her and told his wife about the issue.
It was then that Ambriz and Erica got into a fight leading Erica to the hospital after suffering a fracture at the base of the skull from the brawl, and a ruptured eardrum. Erica did not appear in court on 26 August 2018, therefore, leading to the case being dismissed. However, the two were both fired from the station after the incident.
