Prior to working at WWL-TV, he was tenured as a GIS analyst and planner at Pond and Company in New Orleans. He covered CAD to GIS conversation projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers and did Military facilities planning. Additionally, he did GIS mapping and analysis.
Between July 2005 and November 2015, Franklin was a meteorologist at WVUE FOX 8 News. He covered the production and execution of a 4 1/2 morning newscast weather segment. In addition to that, he updated social media with daily forecasts and details of active and changing weather. He also acted as a “station scientist” when appropriate for news content.
Franklin was a meteorologist at KNST channel 27 and KTMJ Fox 43, from September 2004 and July 2005. Previously, he was a teaching assistant and grader at the University of South Alabama between August 2002 and August 2004.
