After leaving Archer City, Malone relocated to Norman, Oklahoma. While at WXXV-TV, he was a Student Assistant at the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences between September 2015 and May 2017. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in meteorology and geography from the University of Oklahoma in 2017.
Between October 2013 and May 2017, he worked at Republic Bank and Trust as a Lead Teller. Malone began his career as a meteorologist interning at Koco TV in January 2016. He brought to light that after living on the Gulf Coast for a few years tropical forecasting was where his passion was. Malone stated that his time on the Gulf Coast created a new obsession in his weather world. Malone likes to spend most of his free time in the kitchen baking and is always on the search for the best coffee in New Orleans.
