Potter serves at CP24 as a meteorologist. You can find his weather updates from Monday to Friday in the late afternoon and evening. He has covered several of the GTA’s most prominent recent weather events, including the tornado outbreak of August 2009, as well as the December 2013 ice storm. He has also taken coverage on the bitter winters of 2007/08 and 2014/15. Potter has a decade and 2 years of experience forecasting the weather across the Great Toronto Area (GTA) and Canada. He began as a briefing and forecasting meteorologist at CP24.

He started his career in broadcasting in the year 2007 at CityTV in Toronto, Canada, where he served as a meteorologist and reporter. Potter has worked for The Weather Network in Mississauga and Oakville as a Commercial Services Meteorologist and Briefer for 3 years and 4 months. While at college studying meteorology, 2 significant weather events impacted Nova Scotia, a Canadian Province, and this was Potter’s love reinforcement for weather and his chosen career path.

In February of 2004 during the blizzard “White Juan”, he was stranded at the Halifax International Airport for 2 days when the whole city was shut down and was covered in snow. It was a few months before the devastating Hurricane Juan destroyed his family home for an entire week, and trees were struck by strong winds. However, drastic measures were made in order for the meat in the freezer not to get spoilt, that is with the absence of power.  “meatpalooza” was born as he barbequed for the whole neighborhood.
