Kay, originally hailing from Buford, Georgia, has made Mississippi her home for several years.

Christana’s upbringing was filled with various performance and competitive activities, including dance, basketball, figure skating, clarinet, and color guard. She showcased her talents as a US Army All-American Colorguard member in 2014, performing at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX, and participating twice in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band.

Her involvement in the Miss Mississippi Corporation within the Miss America Circuit highlights her commitment to community service. Serving as Miss Magnolia 2018 and Miss Northland 2019, Christana’s platform, Eyes on the Sky, focuses on promoting severe weather awareness and preparedness in Mississippi schools. Her dedication to philanthropy earned her recognition, including the second runner-up Miracle Maker Award in 2019 for raising over $1,300 for Batson Children’s Hospital.

Additionally, she received the Betty Jean Memorial Hospitable Scholarship and the Miss America 1986 Susan Akin Scholarship for her achievements. Now, Christana is happy to continue her journey in Jackson as the weekend morning meteorologist for 16 WAPT News. Outside of work, she enjoys hitting the gym, hunting for bargains, exploring hidden gems in Mississippi, conducting weather education sessions in schools, attending pageants, and cheering for Mississippi State and the New England Patriots football teams.
