Cliff Floyd (born Cornelius Clifford Floyd Jr.) is an American Analyst and former MLB left fielder working for MLB Network as a baseball analyst. As a baseball player, he played for several notable teams including the Mets, Marlins, and Expos.

Floyd is a proud alumnus of South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois, and Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois. While he was at Thornwood High, he was a sports star in 3 different games: basketball, football, and baseball. In basketball, he helped his school reach the Class AA Sectional Playoffs. During his last 2 years in high school, he had an impressive batting average of .508 and got 130 runs batted in. In his senior year, he led his team to win the Illinois Class AA state baseball championship.

Many colleges, like Arizona State University, Creighton University, and Stanford University wanted him to play for them. He even agreed to play for Creighton under coach Jim Hendry, but then, the Montreal Expos chose him as the 14th pick in the first round of the MLB draft of the year 1991. He decided to go to the minor leagues instead.

He was good at defense too, leading all National League outfielders with 15 assists in the year 2005 while playing for the NY Mets.
