Reppenhagen serves at KUSA – 9News as a reporter, meteorologist, and photographer. At the station, Reppenhagen is like the all-around player in the weather team. He is usually seen up in the mountains during heavy winter storms or out on the plains tracking severe weather. When Mother Nature is acting up, he is right there, doing his best work. Before joining KUSA, he worked for 7News – KMGH in Denver, Colorado as a Meteorologist/Journalist for 4 years (from June 2013 to June 2017).

While he was in college, Reppenhagen started working in TV news at KKCO-11 and KJCT-8. In the year 2001, he went to work for KAKE-10 in Wichita, Kansas. That’s where he witnessed his first super intense thunderstorm in Kansas. Right then, he got really interested in severe weather and chasing storms. After reporting on severe weather events and lots of tornadoes, Reppenhagen decided to head to Florida to experience tropical storms. He timed it well because, in the year 2004, he reported on his first 4 hurricanes: Jeanne, Charley, Ivan, and Frances. Then in the subsequent year, it was Hurricanes Katrina, Dennis, Ophelia, Wilma, and Rita.

Reppenhagen has worked for WFTV-9 in Orlando, Florida as a meteorologist for 10 years. While there, Reppenhagen reported on 14 hurricanes and 4 other tropical storms. He says that one of the moments he won’t forget is flying into the eye of Hurricane Wilma, the strongest ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, back in October 2005. Another standout memory was witnessing the destruction caused by an EF-5 tornado in Hackleburg, AL. Cory’s work during the April 2011 tornado super outbreak in Alabama earned him a Suncoast Regional Emmy award.

After finishing high school, he had 2 super cool life experiences. First, he went to Australia to play baseball for a team from Colorado. He stayed with local families there, played baseball, and had a blast exploring the country as a teenager. Later on, Reppenhagen spent two years working at Keystone Resort. He was in charge of the ice rink and managed to make over 100 trips down the slopes with his ski pass.
