There, he stayed participated in numerous fundraising projects and community service.

Raines serves at ABC7 Los Angeles. Previously, he was working for the Cable News Network(CNN), where he was the weathercaster for the CNN-produced TBS Evening News on WPCH-TV. Before that, he was working for WDSU in New Orleans, Louisiana, and WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a Chief Meteorologist.

Raines passed a stringent written exam from the American Meteorological Society which tested his understanding of forecasting and weather. He is, therefore, a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. He is professionally a member of the American Meteorological Society(AMS) and holds their Seal of Approval for TV Broadcasting. Also, he holds many other awards from the American Meteorological Society for outstanding coverage of weather events. Raines was fortunate to be invited to the White House in a 30-person scientist/climatologist debate. The debate was based on global warming, and Vice President Al Gore and President Bill Clinton were the hosts.

Throughout his career, he won numerous awards. For Best Weatherperson in Los Angeles, he holds the Daily News People’s Choice Award. In Paris, France, he was named Best Weather Presenter/World competition level. He holds a Golden Mike Award for Best Weathercast in Southern California in the division of 4 to 11 pm. The American Cancer Society voted him Man of the Year. ON CABLE magazine named him the Most Popular On-Air Personality on CNN.

He was named the Most Popular On-Air Newscaster in Los Angeles by KIIS Radio. He holds an Overall Excellence Award, received from the Greater Los Angeles Press Club for a 60 Minute Newscast. For Best Weather Segment, he was awarded the Associated Press Award. He holds the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Association (NOAA) Outstanding Coverage Award for covering Hurricane Frederic.

When it comes to the upstairs, an office sits behind glass doors off a wide landing on the wooden stairway. The park-area ground features a sports court, a putting green, a pool house with a kitchenette, and a fire pit. He bought the property in the year 2008 for $2.9 million, public records show. It is located on the hillside of Panoramic Mountain.
