He began as a General Assignment Reporter at FOX 19, appearing on the 10 PM newscasts.

Before joining WXIX-TV, he served as a General Assignment Reporter and Anchor at WJET-TV and WFXP-TV, both part of the Nexstar Media Group, Inc., in the Erie, Pennsylvania Area from 2004 to 2008. Wells’s career began in 2003 when he worked for KNXV in Phoenix, Arizona, in the news and production department, for 4 years.
