Prior to his current position, Wells worked at WXIX Fox 19 as a Weekend News Anchor and General Assignment Reporter from August 2012 to March 2016. He began as a General Assignment Reporter at FOX 19, appearing on the 10 PM newscasts.
Before joining WXIX-TV, he served as a General Assignment Reporter and Anchor at WJET-TV and WFXP-TV, both part of the Nexstar Media Group, Inc., in the Erie, Pennsylvania Area from 2004 to 2008. Wells’s career began in 2003 when he worked for KNXV in Phoenix, Arizona, in the news and production department, for 4 years. He also worked as an Account Executive Project Manager at GO Media Companies, LLC in Phoenix, Arizona. He then transitioned into the role of a General Assignment Reporter at KMIR-TV, part of Entravision Communications, in Palm Springs, California from 2002 to 2003.
Prior to his broadcast journalism career, Wells gained experience in the production and writing departments at ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona from 2001 to 2002. Additionally, he worked in the Parks and Recreation Department at the City of Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona from 2001 to 2002. Over the years of his career, he has reported on many breaking and significant stories. He has gone to Mexico and Arizona to create a special series about the problems with borders and immigration that impact the lives of people in the Tri-State area.
