Previously, he served WTXL ABC27 HD in Tallahassee, Florida as a weekend sports anchor for nearly half a decade. He joined FOX 59 as a decorated sports journalist, winning multiple awards from the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists.

While in Tallahassee, he covered athletics at four major universities and more than 50 local high schools. Griffiths’ most eventful month was at the end of 2013/beginning of 2014, following Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston to New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony and continuing on with the whole Seminole team to Pasadena, California, and the final BCS National Championship game.

He began his sports broadcasting at KWYB in Bozeman, Montana. He covered the occasional rodeo, but his primary role was a TV sideline reporter for Montana State football, a position he held for three seasons, and for which he was honored with a First Place award for sports reporting in 2011 by the Society of Professional Journalists.
