When coming to his education, he was educated at Stevenson High School, Coolidge Elementary, and Riley Middle School. He earned his meteorology degree from the University of Michigan’s Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences. In 2012, he was awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Accredited Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal.
He attended his internship at Fox 2 News, beginning his career as their morning meteorologist at KDRV in Medford, OR. He joined the New Orleans team two years later, where he worked for WWL-TV. In school, studying Tropical Meteorology helped prepare him for the comprehensive serious weather coverage during the hurricane season.
Less than 100 miles south of New Orleans, Hurricane Isaac made landfall and they were on the air 24 hours a day back in 2012 for 5 consecutive days. It was an event that showed him Mother Nature’s true strength. He felt that he had to go back home to Fox 2 News in Metro Detroit.
