Dylan Playfair is a Canadian TV Personality, Actor, and Entrepreneur well-known for appearing in many shows and films such as “Letterkenny”, “Animal Control”, and “Buddy Games: Spring Awakening”. Some of the other shows and films he has starred in include “Descendants 2 & 3”, “Haters Back Off!”, “Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story”, “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”, “Whistles”, “Summerland”, “Stories of Kindness”, and “The Sinners”.
Playfair is a proud alumnus of Vancouver Acting School in British Columbia, Canada. He has also pursued acting studies at an acting school in Los Angeles, California. As a businessman, Playfair and his wife co-own 2 production companies: Crystal Mountain Films and Media Button.
Before Playfair started his acting career, he used to play hockey as a forward for the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL. He began acting when he was 19, starting with children’s movies and television shows. For 2 years (2014 – 2016), Playfair played the role of ‘Knox’ in “Some Assembly Required” (a YTV series) from Season 1 to 3, until the show got revoked. In the year 2017, Playfair joined Disney’s “Descendants” franchise, portraying the character ‘Gil’.
Playfair often finds himself in hockey-related roles, thanks to his impressive skating skills. In the year 2013, he acted in “Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story”, portraying Gordie Howe’s son ‘Marty Howe’. Three years later, he began working on “Letterkenny”. Playfair’s roles have covered a wide range, from portraying a young man facing significant challenges in “Never Steady Never Still” to taking on the roles of producer and star in political documentaries that focus on youth voter apathy, such as “The Drop.”

The show talks about what the people in a small town called Letterkenny in Canada do. There are 2 siblings, Katy and Wayne, who run a small farm and sell their produce. Wayne gets help from his friends “Squirrely” Dan and Daryl. Playfair revealed in an interview in February 2023 that he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). It’s a term used for people who struggle a lot with concentration but don’t show other ADHD symptoms like being overly impulsive or hyperactive. He said that his teachers really wanted his parents to give him medication, but looking back, he was glad they said no. He also added that school was tough for him, but it also made him feel like he didn’t quite fit in. Surprisingly, this feeling pushed him to choose a career path that was very different from what many of his peers were studying.
