Greene serves at KUSA – 9News as a fill-in meteorologist (on a semi-retirement term) (he replaced Becky Ditchfield). He initially joined 9NEWS (his 1st stint) as a meteorologist, in the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA, in the year 1996, and then moved to CBS4 – KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado after 5 years (in the year 2001). From there, Greene worked as a weather forecaster at KOA Radio and KMGH-TV. in Denver, Colorado. He then returned back to KUSA – 9News (his 2nd stint) after 25 years, to work as a morning weather forecaster.
In the year 2017, Greene retired from his 42 year-career (his last station being 9News). He had the longest time on the air compared to anyone else in Denver TV history. Tim Ryan, the director of content at KUSA, once expressed his admiration for the work of Greene and conveyed happiness about his work at the station.
Greene’s initial foray into on-air broadcast journalism was in the year 1972 on radio at KIMN. He expanded into television 4 years later, serving as a weather and news anchor at KMGH alongside his radio reporting. He later joined CBS4 – KCNC in the year 1981, establishing a longstanding partnership with the CBS4 – KCNC throughout the majority of his broadcasting career.
In addition to reporting on weather, Greene has been involved in covering various stories. He hosted a celebration for the Denver Broncos after the Super Bowl and emceed Denver’s inaugural championship parade in the year 1998. Specifically, Greene served as the host for the Civic Center Park event during the Denver Broncos’ first parade following the triumphant efforts of Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis, and John Elway in bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Denver, CO.
